Coppett Hill is easily
accessed from the A40 between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Follow the
signs for Goodrich Castle with its car park and toilets. Walk back
through Goodrich following the signs to Welsh Bicknor. There is no
parking on Coppett Hill and access is on foot only - no powered
vehicles or mountain bikes.
Regarding horses, the policy is:
"Only those persons who are resident or own property in the Parishes of Goodrich and Welsh Bicknor are allowed to ride horses on Coppett Hill Common.
The only paths that can be used by riders are from Bearwood to the top of the Hill on the ‘upper diagonal path’ and on the Ridge Path between the Folly and Jellamy’s Tump."
Buses between Ross and Monmouth pass through Goodrich every two hours and from Ross to Coleford pass Kerne Bridge every two hours.
